Delay in loading aircraft textures

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. I've just noticed a strange phenomenon with FS9 aircraft installed in FSX (namely, CLS A330/A340 and Project Airbus A32x with sharklets, which don't have FSX models available). When I switch from 2D cockpit to spot view (either locked or default free), I only see a grey aircraft (as if the Fixer was never installed), and then the textures load. Sometimes it takes 1-2 seconds; however, there are times FSX takes over 30 seconds to do so. It's strange, since these planes are not texture-heavy, and I didn't use any 2048 or 4096 textures.

In the Fixer>Legacy options, I only have dawn/dusk smoothing enabled, because I have shadows disabled in FSX (I never cared about them). How can I fix this issue?

My rig: ASUS TUF FX504GD (Intel i5 8300H @ 2.8-4.0 GHz, 8 GB DDR4-2666 RAM, Nvidia GTX 1050, 256 GB M.2 SSD+256 GB 1 TB SATA III SSD as storage, Windows 10 Home)

Saitek X-52 as primary controller. Xbox 360 wired and eDimensional G-Pad Pro wired controllers as standby/travel.

Running FSX-SE as my primary sim, finally, 13 years after FSX's release. Also running FS9 and XP11 Vulkan. What do I do with 3 sims now?

Project Airbus A32X models with sharklets are available now for FSX including the VC option, see the bottom of this thread here http://talk.pafs.wf/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3218

I´m using this aircraft with the VC and there is no lag showing the textures after any moving or switching between 2D to VC panel. Maybe it belongs to my mid+ size I7 computer.

Well, looks like my FSX was overloaded with PrecipitFX. As soon as I uninstalled it, I stopped seeing this issue.
