Why do you think flight simulator is a "game"?

The answer is it's both a game and a simulator. It depends on how the person is using it.

Maybe we should come up with AVISM-standard definitions.

Simulator - focused on simulating, then entertainment

Simcade - can be used for simulating somewhat, but mostly focused on entertainment.

Arcade - entertainment only.

That means MSFS, X-Plane, P3D, ETC are simulators.

War thunder is Simcade, as you can get simulator difficulty, but it's not really meant entirely for that.

Kerbal space program itself is almost a simulator, but not entirely. It is simplified. However, with the FAR mod installed, it becomes a low-level simulator.

Fun cool kid's plane rocket ship game transforming car is most definitely, however, the most simulator-y of any simulators - because to get anywhere, you have to spend money. Just like real life!

P3D is the Not for entertainment program. Redbird sells FAA approved hardware to be used with P3D.

But we all know it is. 👍

Here we go... one again Avsimmers are making up their own thumb-sucked names for things..

We'll add it the Avsimmer's Dictionary that already includes FS20, FS2020 MSFS20, MSFS2020 amongst others.

Ron, I've been meaning to mention that every time I glance at your signature block, I seem to read it as:

"My Pants on Fire"...

I mean, how else are we supposed to communicate fast?

Right, from now on, I shall call MSFS2020

"The new, announced 13 years after Flight simulator X's release, considered by many to be the last true flight simulator released by microsoft, Microsoft flight simulator, titled "Microsoft Flight simulator", also called by many in the community "FS20, FS2020, MSFS2020, and the like, which some claim to be a "game" without having any evidence of that claim, and some claim to be a "simulator"... with having around 30 minute's worth of developers talking against a gameplay background as evidence of that claim."

Maybe a Combat Flight Simulator 4 would be quite amazing?

Avsimmers would probably call it CFS2021!
