Maybe Martin was waiting on this for KATL as they have some serious slope on their runways.

as ATL is my home base this would be welcome and outstanding news.

Re: P3D v5 Announced for 4/14

Post by Mir // Flightbeam » Wed Apr 08, 2020 10:16 am

Hi all,

We've known the existence of P3Dv5 for some time and have had access. We're planning on having all products compatible by release date.

As usual, free update for customers.

PMDG just announced that all their addons are already 100% compatible with Prepar3D V5 and just require an installer. There is no charge for this package with the new P3D V5 installer but to mitigate their bandwidth cost because the company that's hosting their servers is really ripping them off, they are charging only 10 cents per MB for re-downloading your addons . Can't say fairer than that! 😆

Do you have a link?

There is no link, it was a joke which is a bit questionable given the first sentence seems genuine. Had me excited at first, too.

Flightbeam is awesome.

Any jokes about compatibility reports, it’s April 8th not 1st.

From Maddog x Forum:

"As a bonus, when upgrading the MD-82 base pack to v5, customers that purchased the MD83/MD88 expansion will be able to transfer their MD-83/MD-88 expansion pack license to the new v5 edition for free."

I will buy P3D v5 only because this addon.

I hope 3rd-part visual(modeling/textureing etc..) developer not just get too excited of the performance boost and drop their effort to optmize their product.....

I really appreciate some old FS9 secnery with highly optimized modeling trick that still looks great and very low on system, with P3Dv4, many add-ons already going too crazy on polygons......

That would be really funny if it weren't so probably true. They've come up with less believable excuses.

Not sure why you would be excited, as mentioned up-thread $0.10/MB is $100/GB.

Obviously the second part was a joke, but the first sentence could have been genuine. So reading that first, you would get excited.
