You should make another poll, ten days after release: "Will you give back Perpar3D V5" 😉

This would be much more helpful for undecided users 🙂

I'll buy it as soon as it comes out, but I probably won't install it until some major addons are compatible.

For myself, being the Glass More Than Half Full,  when I commit to something...I truly mind-set as in 'it'  for 100 percent.  I will only look for ways post purchase, to enhance my experience.  For by buying...I showed myself, my 100 percent commitment for successful deployment. A product has to excite me...for if there is any 'Meh'....I won't bite....🙂

I have already uninstalled V4 and all my addons. Will buy V5 on day one and I will be installing/flying V5 addons as soon as they are becoming available.

Call it extreme but I know I won't be flying on the old sim when the newer and better one is out.

Sounds a little bit like buying toilet papers in these days 😉
Sorry for that - bad joke 🥂

Haha! I evaluated the situation last week and it seems nearly all developers are providing free upgrades. If I had to re-buy everything, obviously it wouldn't be such a drastic transition.

I am currently waiting on a few aircraft developers to report their plans (FSL, TFDi, Majestic, Qualitywings, Captainsim, Justflight), but looking at the trends, the chances that they won't move to P3Dv5 or that they will require to re-buy their products are minimal or none in my opinion. So I took that decision.

if I want to fly, I'll fly on X-Plane or DCS. From the 14th, I'll be flying whatever comes first in P3D. I have no problem to be flying even one add-on, until more become available. I don't fly all my add-ons every day, no time for that. So waiting is no problem.

Another poll should be: How many days will P3D be out before there's an emergency Hotfix?

The only concern I have is that I recall that LM had a 60 day satisfaction guarantee at one point. Now or so I have heard its 2 weeks! When was that changed?

Why so much negativity guys?!

If you hate LM and P3D why you even bother with it?

As I said in another thread. What people were asking in the "what you wish for V5" threads was:

- New graphics rendering engine / better performance
- New weather system/atmosphere engine
- Slopped runways
- Correct time-zones

Sure they were other requests I guess, but these were the most wanted ones.

You get all these, and still so much negativity. I honestly don't understand it.

I do.

They have only some screenies and PR videos to share, already got bored and now they troll here around.

I don't know what their expectations were, I guess they were hoping that LM will develop a sim similar or better than MSFS in the "out of the box" condition.

We have seen 4 iterations of Prepar3D, we know that LM is improving the engine and the SDK for developers to provide realistic environments and aircraft. Besides, they also updated many things like global terrain, elevation, water/shoreline data, and traffic routes.

An interesting thought experiment: Suppose LM made P3Dv5 look like or better than MSFS, but broke all backward compatibility. Who would buy it to fly default planes? I can imagine people complaining all day long.

Instead, for a single upgrade price we get so many new features, up to 50% performance increase, free all our existing add-ons, and people still complain. This is called "being ungrateful" in my world.
