April 13, 20206 yr When, I lost use of my PMDG (BAe) JS-41, I also lost use of one of my most well-loved (SIM) aircraft...I recall, in FSX, making many (diligent full start-up to shut-down) flights with it (by the book, I mean, by the "Tutorial"...🙂..!). It still flies in my FSX-SE, but, due to some reason, it becomes a slide-show, at times, (whereas, in contrast, and surprisingly, my (good old) PMDG MD-11, gives me no trouble - even I had posted a couple of times about it!). And, BTW, this gem-of-a-SIM (pmdgJS41), unfortunately, remains only for FSX still, I think. With the duo of pmdgJS41 and mjcQ400, if one is into turboprops, one would be pretty much well-set, I would think...Anyway...back to this post...I was, today, taking stock of my Aerosoft/XHT (Mega Airport) Prague, and looking around this scenery a bit (what a nice airport, it is, for just ~$5 (~$4eu),...in case, you've still ignored the Bargain Hunter Shack's tip). And, today, I was also skimming through my Virtuacol planes (maybe, because I also downloaded their (free) SKBO/Bogota). If you know or own Virtuacol SIM planes, you know, their textures are decent, and they always give you (literally) tons of liveries, by default...a nice way, e.g. in this case, here, to get to know the numerous, but little-known, (second-tier and subsidiary) feeder/commuter Airlines (old or new, defunct or functional)...actually, much more than what we may actually see in RW...(because these airlines come and go - being frequently merged/acquired/renamed etc.)... And, the subject plane, of this post, Jetstream 31, was conceived after Scottish Aviation took over production of the original Jetstream design from Handley Page and when, in 1978, it was nationalized along with other British companies into British Aerospace (now BAe Systems). BAe then decided the design was worth further development. Work started earnestly on further improvements of HP Jetstream. The result was the BAe Jetstream 31, which first flew on 28 March 1980. 386 units of JS-31 variants (plus 100 or so more 41 variants) were built and delivered. JS31 production stopped in 1993. But, as of July 2019, 70 Jetstream 31s were still active in airline service: 49 in Americas, 15 in Europe, 5 in Asia Pacific and 1 in Africa. So, please find, below, a collection of images for the British Aerospace Jetstream 31, the (popular) predecessor and the shorter (but older) sibling of JS-41. For scenery, here, I'm testing Aerosoft's Prague (to the city locals, it is called "PRAHA"...look for "PRAHA" sign in a couple of images below...the current Airport name is "Václav Havel Airport Prague" - please also look for this sign in one (night) shot below...). Hope you enjoy these pictures. Thanks for viewing!! Comments are welcome! [Virtuacol(JS31), Aerosoft/XHT(Prague), REX] Notes: The first 3 and last 3 screenshots are in the House Color of the plane (including a few top-down views of the Airport structures - showing nice complexity of this scenery add-on). Other liveries (starting from the 4th shot - in the order): British Airways (actually Sun Air - a BA franchise partner) Red Star Aviation (Air Ambulance - Turkey) Aeropelican Air Services was a regional airline based in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia (became FlyPelican Airlines). SARPA is an Air Charter and Air Ambulance operator, with main base at Eldorado International Airport in Bogotá D.C. Origin Pacific Airways was an airline based in Nelson in New Zealand. MACAIR Jet was South American airline based out of Buenos Aires Argentina - (merged with Avianca). Manx2 operated out of Isle of Man airport - (merged with Citywing). United Express (circa 1995) direktflyg was a regional airline out of in Stockholm, Sweden - (merged with Swedish Cargo Airline Amapola Flyg). American Eagle United Express (circa 1990) [I especially like this one!] Skyways was a Swedish airline that operated out of Stockholm-Arlanda Airport. Eastern Airways AVIES was an airline and is now a travel company based in Tallinn Airport, Estonia.
April 14, 20206 yr The house colour scheme is quite attractive IMHO, especially if one likes shades of blue. Thanks, P_7878 Mark Robinson Part-time Ferroequinologist Author of FLIGHT: A near-future short story (ebook available on amazon) I made the baby cry - A2A Simulations L-049 Constellation Sky Simulations MD-11 V2.2 Pilot. The best "lite" MD-11 money can buy (well, it's not freeware!)
April 15, 20206 yr Author Thanks for the comment, Mark! Yes, I, too, always like shades of the same color in an airline livery (quite a few do it)...sometimes the shades are distinct and sometimes...blending into each other....
