Prepar3D v5 Released

The P3D public site is hosted with a third-party provider (not one of the big public clouds). Either way, launch day traffic is something that anyone but a rank amateur should expect and provide for. The actual downloads are fine... public site less so.

Cheers!

It depends on the intensity/duration of the demand; clearly, LM Management feels said demand is temporary and doesn't warrant additional resource expenditure and/or reallocation.

Also, when referring to launch days, are you conflating entertainment software (e.g. COD, GTA, etch) with training/professional applications?  Surely, the latter doesn't fit in to the same category and shouldn't warrant the same resources?

Regardless, I enjoyed the discussion, Luke; and, thank you for everything you do for DVA!!!!!

yes indeed, I will try to play with that new feature, but the fps impact is nothing (you can see the fps count). I think they can still improve that area, it is still on beta though

Absolutely soapy  MegaSceneryEarth Colorado 4X.  Like HD, not 4K

All Sliders are shifted to the right.

In v4.5, this  addon looks clear and at a great distance.

Took a quick look at KORD. The runway/taxiway layout appears to be as it is now in 2020, not the 2006 version from previous versions of P3D

I believe all airports received new runway textures, and improved default buildings, but I believe that only “major” airports have been re-done with new runways that have been built in recent years, new ILS approaches where needed etc.

Someone posted the recommended system requirements.  Its impossible to check on their site right now.

Does anyone know if V5 will run on Win7, Professional?  I would rather stay with Win7.

Pretty sure it is only Windows 10...

As I am not able to get onto the site, can someone please clarify, that P3dv5 is a new product hence the $59.99 price and not a free update from P3dv4? Thanks.

Correct...new product, based on existing sim, but claimed to be big improvement. I am waiting for the surge to pass, then after reading reviews, will make my decision.
