REX SkyForce 3D & P3D v5

Recommended Posts

Some claim that it works but I still have not heard from REX studios:

A pilot is always learning and I LOVE to learn.

It's what's possible with REX SkyForce & an ORBX Honolulu City add-on. Aside from the sun glow effects my v4.5 looks just as good and maybe better because the water color in v5 can be better.

I'm guessing REX is applicable only to the extent that it is not using the TrueSky option?  I'm definitely in the camp of wanting to move on from 2D sprite clouds.

With enhanced atmo enabled I guess?

At the expense of losing TCBs? SkyForce 3D has been for me a sim changer.

Thanks JJ. I just recently bought sky force and environment add ons and am completely in love with them!

And the tweaking continues;-)

Sky Force and Environment Force were absolute gamechangers in v4.5. I cannot wait until they're ready for v5!

Wait, from the first post it seems you got Sky Force working in v5? How? Please give us a tutorial!

Simply point Skyforce 3d to your V5 instead of the V4 folder.

Done.

Of course you will run into some incopatiblilities here and there but at least the weather engine seems to work fine. So pending the update for ActiveSky one can use this to inject real world weather.

The video shows P3Dv5's stock clouds etc., not REX, sorry...

Been using SkyForce since day 1....primarily for weather (since Active Sky is not available), and secondly, for sky and clouds.  Works great.  Like it was said above, just point SkyForce to your P3dv5 folder.  Big difference.

So although you can use sf for the weather engine, the clouds are all still 2d sprites, is that right?

meaning that you can’t display volumetric clouds with it yet?
