i think those changes are irrelevant for most of us so i would not update P3D not to destroy any compatibility with existing addons

I wonder why LM did this release for P3Dv4.5 with apparently few or any important changes, only hours after they released a major version (v5). Do LM want to show us that there's still life ahead for P3Dv4.5?.

Being the trailblazer that I am, I went ahead and installed it.

I was hoping that the "Fixed issue preventing metallic occlusion properties from loading correctly." fix would correct the miscolored wing leading edges on the NGXu. It didn't.

My add-ons seem to be working so far with the exception of Activesky, which immediately barfed over the version number and is not currently working. (I have not touched them except for running FSDT live update and Orbx Central as described below)

Tested so far:

FlyTampa Boston and Las Vegas

FSDT GSX(L2) and KORD V2 (required a reinstall via the full installer and then an (automatic) live update)

PMDG - NGXu

Orbx - I have Base, Vector, OpenLC NA, SCA, NCA, PNW, and all of their freeware installed. I went through all installed products and did a "verify files". I have everything but Base in a library outside of my P3D folder.

FS2Crew for the NGXu seems to be working as well but I haven't tried a full flight yet.

I don't think so. It looks more like cleaning house. They didn't add any significant feature.

HiFiSim released a new beta for ASP4 (7408) on Monday (13 Apr) for P3Dv4.5...perhaps that's compatible with HF3?

Negative. Tested within the past 15 minutes.

I'm actually getting an ASConnect error. It says "This version of as_connect is designed to be used with P3D versions 4.0.23.21468 up to 4.5.14.34678".

HF3 is 4.5.14.34698

I received an email this morning from SimMarket saying FFTF had been updated for HF3 and to redownload the FFTF setup file. However, when I tried to run the new setup file I get an error message saying that the file can't be run on this machine.  Very strange, I wonder if SimMarket loaded the wrong update file? Anyone successfully update FFTF for HF3?
