Well if there was a forum or a way to actually contact Carenado that they responded to people might not get so "snarky". Sorry the FAQ doesn't cut it. But since there is no "official" Carenado forum and they have dumped their support onto the laps of other users this is what happens.

Perhaps the fact he has to ask a Carenado question in the P3D forum should tell you something.

Hmm, strange. I currently are sitting in the Shrike flying around in southern Argentina. Everything is fine on my end.

Did you do a straightforward install or did you have to resort to a 'wrinkle'?

Installed the PC12 and the dash is missing. Gauges are there against the backdrop of the runway.

I submitted a ticket to Carenado and their response was simply that the planes have not been tested with / or are updated for V5

They are kinda hit and miss what works/no missing VC textures. C550,S340,PA42 Cheyenne II,PA31T,E120.... not B200,C208,406 that I have tried.

I think there's a higher chance the new ones working but the older don't. The C172RG which I often used is one of the older ones (and accordingly doesn't work). Its X-Plane pendant originally was for XP10 and never made it into a XP11 version (and accordingly doesn't work properly).

So far on "their updates have been coming usually at no cost". I would even accept a small upgrade cost, but sometimes they never come.

Straightforward install.

Use the installer to reinstall..
If you try to "winkle" any of the carenado/alabeo's into v5 & miss any of the required gauges ( 1, can be more ) that deal with anti-piracy you will end up exactly what is being described - missing / holes in cockpit, holes in the fuselage etc. Along with one other nasty thing. Right Ron? 😉

Carenados C185F works perfectly, I just copied it into V5.

When copying over airplanes that do not use the xml installation method, all relevant Gauges, effects and sounds also have to be copied.

I copied the complete gauges, effects, sound and fonts folders using "do not override". Unused files in those folders do not harm the sim.

It is a good idea to make a backup of your clean V5 installation. So, if needed, you always know which files were originally there.

If you don't want to copy all that, switch on content error logging. The log file will show you which gauges, sounds, effects and textures the sim did not find when the airplane was loaded. Then search for it and copy it over.

I’ve got the C90, and 421 working. I actually selected p3dv4 and then selected a dummy folder I set up. Copied all the contents from the dummy folder over To v5. May need to make sure you have the latest installers.

 

i did this for the emb-120, VC is beautiful in v5 but I get no exterior model. I can see the wing tips and motors from the vc but exterior view is no joy.

and yes the A2A stuff works, just copy the contents of the A2A/p3dv4 addons folder over and delete or rename the windshieldeffects or whatever the name is dll

Something is being read into the script. I used no wrinkles. A plain old straight installer. No cleverness on my part.

So far I have Realair's B60 and Legacy and to my delight Orbx's Lancair 1V-P

I installed the Shrike Commander in V5 using the installer.  It works, but it's a stuttery mess, with wildly fluctuating frame rates from the 90's down to the 20's.  I had the same problem when I bought a new PC and re-installed in to P3D3.  On my old computer it worked fine in V3, but on the new one, same deal, stuttery mess.  The only thing I can figure is when I bought my new machine I re-downloaded the plane from the website and it might have been a newer version (I think it said it was 1.2).  Anybody have any ideas?  It's completely unusable as it is and it's not a V5 problem because it also happened when I installed it in V3.

Realairs Duke gives me some troubles with the sound. Cockpit sounds are too load and cannot be adjusted by regulating the slider in Options.

 

Is it me only having this problem?

I actually just bought this during the recent sale as my group has one in FSeconomy. Most recent installer is 1.2

I just installed into V5, fps pegged at 60 (which i have capped). Same performance as the A2A stuff for me.

690B loads fine, but wont start and something keeps bringing up the ESC key menu with it loaded.
