yes finally we can get rid of the vector😇

at least we saved on buying a vector and and it seems even on the mesh🤓

You have roads without bridges, missing secondary roads, houses almost in the water, and several other anomalies; if you're trying to prove V5 doesn't need vector data, you missed the mark.  Why does your water look like tar? This looks terrible!

I noticed that FsGlobal has released a new 2020 version for P3dv5. I wonder how that may play into the picture? Sorry if I hijacked your conversation.

I agree. As much as I had to struggle with vector sometimes, its missing now. On the other hand, I'm mainly flying in ORBX land, which already contains Vector data. But when flying with the big birds over or to bad vectored areas ... not so nice.

That's Mesh ... not Vector.

I have it already!

then at P5 you will suffer, so sorry ...

Yes, this is the only drawback, but you look from the wrong side, it is pure sim without textures orbx global.

Nevertheless, bridges from a height are not so noticeable and there are those that are not in the orbx vector, it also applies to roads, but it will be in P5(somewhere plus or minus), but most importantly the vector data now of excellent quality!

I believe that now it’s not so necessary, since now a noticeably higher level LOD is used

Vector DOES contain bridges, along with tunnels, railroads, swamps, streams, parks, power lines, golf courses, and beaches.  If you fly VFR, it's a critical tool; the picture you posted is just horrendous and is no where close to "excellent quality"; in fact, it's just the opposite.  Again, major roads without bridges, houses in waters, lakes that look like blocks...

I suspect ORBX doesn't want to invest the resources to update a product that was heavily criticized and misunderstood; so, they offered an explanation to appease the masses. After flying in stock V5, I realize just how badly we need vector; I could barely recognize my HOME town.

Why do your rivers/lakes look like tar?

for me personally, the main thing is the correct coastlines and reservoirs, rivers, and it seems in P5 it is even higher than in the orbx vector...😉

for VFR flights outside the water the best option paid scenary...

also in P5 of this became much more than before🤓

the matter is that, their  developer(pilots) really doesn’t see the point of dealing with this product, it’s too complicated, they’ll better make a mesh and sell it for $ 70 ...

I don’t know, it’s default, besides it’s not the tropics, the normal color of water for those places, I do not see anything unusual🙄

Orbx Vector simply does not work in P3D v5. There is no more or less to it than that. In respect of coastlines and shorelines, roads and power lines it was extremely accurate, except in remote areas of the virtual world where there was no data to be used. The AEC function was designed to make default airports as compatible as possible with add on mesh and in that, it did a very good job.

Wow, sometimes we just need to see a comparison photo comparing the two to get an idea. P3D v5 looks vastly better!

In an earlier post, I showed a screen shot taken while cruising just offshore from Point Pleasant, NJ. As I flew past, I was looking at an actual aerial photo of the same location, comparing the shape and configuration of the inlet shoreline and artificial canals. Other than the autogen buildings, the representation of the area in the sim was an exact match to the aerial photo in almost every detail.

+1

however, some users still do not see the difference and they need an orbx vector🤔
