How to estimate the landing weight

Recommended Posts

Hi again.

My question today is about how to calculate your estimated landing weight. This is needed in order to work out the Vref. Please let me know the best way of doing this. Many thanks.

Adrian

Adrian,

I use the 300's profile in Simbrief for an estimate. An example from the paperwork looks like this:

ESTIMATED TOW 14564 LAW 13298 ZFW 11987

My EFB (AiviaSoft) also gives me my actual so I can use the chart from a Jet Aviva Checklist to set in my Vref.

Hi Ron.

Can you advise me how to access the Jet Aviva charts you mention? I've had a quick look at their site but unsure where to look.

Cheers...Ken.

Ken,

This is the one I've been using for awhile now.. It's ten years old but works from me. BTW most of the time If I've calculated my fuel right, I'm landing between 105-110 Vref.

I know there is a I pad program that can be purchased (cant remember where I saw it, but I'll look again) to calculate many parameters

but for sim flying I find this checklist and chart is fine for me.

There is a real good (IMHO) checklist in the PTM.

have fun

Hi Ron.

Thanks for the links. I appreciate it. I already had the second one. The actual Embraer one, but not the first.

Best Regards...Ken.

Hi Ron.

Thanks for the tip. I hadn't spotted that info in the Simbrief OFP. Very useful. And thanks for the links to the charts.

Adrian
