V5: Long pauses between menus and settings

Hi guys,

Every time I choose something in the menus the screen goes black for 10 sec before the selected window opens (weather, aircraft, location...).
It wasn't the case on the vanilla install so something is probably causing this delay.
I've installed my A2A fleet, all compatible ORBX products and some airports which are supposed to be compatible with P3Dv5.

Any help would be very appreciated.

Now you know : the more you install the longer it takes. Here it’s the same.

V4 was a bit faster with loading.

No, I do not mean the time it takes to loading a flight but the time it takes to open a menu window, Gerard, and I don't believe it has something to do with addons.

My pc was also faster loading the menus than now with 80+ addons ...

So if a vanilla V4/V5 is faster without Addons than imho it has to do with them..

@Gerard,

P3D v4.5 with 16Tb of addons: it takes half a second to open the weather menu.
P3D v5 with 219 Gb of addons, it takes exactly 12 seconds.

Not logical 😉

I now have to wait for a minute (1 min!) for a menu item to actually appear after selection. In my opinion this is slightly too long. I (and some others) have reported this in the Prepar3d forum, and I hope the hotfix will take care of it. Might be one of the issues related to many add-on.xml entries being installed.

Yes, the culprit is addon.xml.
I have used the Delete Generated Files feature (thanks Paddler!) and I am now back to normal.
Glad to know LM is aware of this issue.

Here I have an addon.xml file for every scenery addon.

I only activate the ones I need by AO. Simple as that.

Gerard, you may not have this problem, but it is a significant v5 issue. I had a lot more addons in v1/v2/v3/v4, v5 is different and the menus are painfully slow for me. Menu access feels like the sim has crashed, though it does eventually respond.

Not at all normal P3D behaviour, and I am sure it is something that LM will try to fix.
