P3Dv5 Config Tweaks?

Recommended Posts

Greetings all,

Hey, just wondering if anyone is using any of the old (or new) Prepar3d.cfg weaks for V5?

Have they all been put to rest or any still of use in V5?

Thanks in advance
D-Man

I've used none in v5, hardly any that I can think of in v4.

I use this tweak to prevent Black textures when looking back at a airports. And the other to turn on lights 20 minutes earlier and off later.

[GRAPHICS]

MAX_TEXTURE_REQUEST_DISTANCE=32000.000000

DAY_THRESHOLD=48000
NIGHT_THRESHOLD=8000

I used that in v4.5 to good effect but I haven't noticed the black textures in v5. Not that I've been looking for them, but if they're there you can't miss 'em!

Unfortunately they exist .... A "good place" to find them is PNW/SeattleX (DD).

I use the one for runway lights:

RUNWAY_LIGHTS_SURFACE_SCALAR=0.30
RUNWAY_LIGHTS_VASI_SCALAR=0.20
RUNWAY_LIGHTS_APPROACH_SCALAR=0.10
RUNWAY_LIGHTS_STROBE_SCALAR=0.30

and other one to resize textures as I'm running on 3gb card at 1080p and that thing saves me 200-300mb VRAM on ngxu and large airports:

TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=2048

You messed that one up. It's Start_With_Tweaks = 0

Yes, that's the only change I make. Prevents those momentary black textures when panning around.
