Is your journey really necessary?

Remotely piloting an MQ-9 over Merseyside, when I spot someone who is going out for a spot of exercise for the third time today during the lockdown. It will be ironic if they are listening to Blue Oyster Cult on their MP3 player...

LOL>>>I get that one!  Don't fear the Reaper. 🙂

(or should they?  those GBUs look daunting)

What would be even more ironic is if they were listening to that song and the bomb hit just as the chorus starting singing "Don't fear the Reaper" 🙂

NOTE TO ANY MAINSTREAM MEDIA PEOPLE WHO MAY BE READING THIS THREAD.

See, Alan has posted up screenshots of.. a DRONE. Please take note..

What the CAA (other aviation authorities are available) have their knickers in a twist about are quad- or multi-rotor flying models which any (insert any three first names here) can buy and fly.

Thank you..

Al, is that MQ-9 a default aircraft in V5? Love the cockpit in a portacabin "VC".

There is a UAV in P3d, but it's a bit boring, this one is an FSX add-on (which also works in P3D V5 as you can see). It's the FLYFREESTD - UAV PROPELLERS FSX add-on. A bit pricey at 26 quid, but it does feature seven different variants of four different UAV types: General Atomics MQ-1 Predator, Tranzas Dozor 600, General Atomics MQ-9 Reaper and the IAI Heron/TP Eitan.

The cabin scenery where you fly the thing is as you say the VC and is relatively authentic in appearance, having twin stations with multiple monitors, because as far as I'm aware it is normally two people who operate these things, one guy drives it and the other is the commander. Ironically, this does actually make it probably the most authentic FSX/P3D add-on aeroplane, since when you sit looking at the monitor in the VC, you are essentially doing exactly the same thing as the real operators, with exactly the same view they have.

What if it stutters and you hit the wrong building?  🙂

Cheers, Rob.

There are no wrong buildings, only collateral damage.

Probably a fate worse than turning off the engine by mistake.
