I have built a high end system and finally got p3dv4.5 working smooth. I tried v5 when it came out and got CTD from previous vram issues (1080ti SLI)

Going to assume that's a bug with SLI, as I have a hard time seeing how you'd max out your VRAM with that card. I'm running 4K, 4K textures, settings cranked up, TrueSky, sim full of OrbX and I've yet to come dangerously close to my limit nor seen a single CTD, in both initial release and HF1.

When starting can not find scenery.cfg

For some reason V4

Did you tick p3d v5.0 in the top of the lorby app? That could be the reason

Cheers Marcus

I will need to be certain that I can run Prepar3D v5 with exactly the same settings that I use in v4 before I decide to upgrade. Lowering the Level of Detail Radius/Scenery Complexity/Autogen Density/Autogen Draw Distance settings is not an option that I am prepar3d to accept.

Even with SLI disabled it happened. The only issue I had with SLI and P3D was when undocking windows. I would get instant FPS drop from 45 to 5, I close the undocked window and FPS went back to 45. I found I had to change a setting in control panel and issue went away.

Read 21 pages about HF1. About to sit down and fly v4.5 with zero regrets.

Just got it up and running.  Reset Windows completely, started from scratch with a fresh install.  LOVING the tick box for variable refresh rate!!! Needed that one!  If I can now actually land without hitting the invisible wall I will be good to go.  Looks like they fixed that in the change log.

Now to re-install all my add-ons and see how that goes.  Good luck everyone.

That is normal. The default setting for P4AO is V4. Just press "Ignore", select V5 on the main screen, Close and restart.

I will add something to get around this in a future version.

Best regards

Thank! Happened. I just didn’t move further and closed the message.

The setting levels from V4 and V5 ARE NOT THE SAME... detail levels, radius, etc. were changed..

This is what people don't understand.. you guys need to stop comparing V4 settings with V5 settings.. V5 is a new Sim.. just load it up default and adjust to your liking from zero.. enjoy the results.. copying setting from V4 to V5 is not effective for the reasons stated above.

So what would be maxed out in v4 is middle of the road in v5?

I just did a re-install of V5 using the same settings I had in V5 working flawlessly before the hotfix.  The performance went down a good bit but I suspect it was scenery related.  The first thing I noticed was the ORBX trees were not the ORBX trees, PNW didn't look the same.  In the process of starting fresh

Chris I love you man, but it pains me to see you being left behind, just do it, you will want v5 at some point, just use 2 Sims for now 🙂

Raul - we have gone through this with every new version of MSFS through FSX and now with P3D. In FSX the "normal" settnmg was equivalent to "high" in Fs9 etc. Somehow many users just do not grasp that concept. Usually they are members of the "I have all my sliders to the right" club. 🙂
