V5 747 or large airbus for Prepar3d..

Recommended Posts

Im very disapointed, that no large passenger aircraft is among the default planes.

Can anyone recommend and add on for V5 with a 747 or the like?

PMDG is working on an update for their B744/8 to work in P3Dv5.  Be patient for that though ...

Aerosoft A330 will be getting updated to v5.  Blackbox A330/A340 should be out for v5 by the time v6 is released.

And even then will still only be a 'prelude'.

Here is another one that may take quite a while to be ported ... iFly 747.

Nothing immediately available but as stated PMDG and Aerosoft on the horizon and worth waiting for.

So far iFly says they'll not upgrade 747 for V5, only NG with new VC

C2615,

Oh, where did you see that?

I was really looking forward to the iFly version of the 747-4 and 8. It is a truly great aircraft.

Regards

Tony

C2615,

This is indeed sad news, with just a small glimmer of hope.

Thanks for pointing this out to me.

OP please note also, and bear in mind that the iFly737 is also a very, very nice aircraft and should be considered.

Regards

Tony

I've tried both the iFly 737 and 747 in V5. They do install, but with many issues which makes them unusable unfortunately.

iFly.....  remember their 737 launch back in 2011 or 2012 when the whole community was behind their screen typing F5 and the guys from iFly chatting live with us while waiting....they were amazed with the hype...   good memories.

Yup, recall too that there was a bit of a race on between iFly and PMDG to see who could get their NG out first, which iFly managed by a few weeks I seem to remember.

Fwiw, my memory is more of a buzz around the NGX, with people much less excited about the iFly (not withstanding that there’s a couple of iFly fans here) 🙂

I bought the iFly 737 on release. It went back in the hangar on the day the NGX came out, and i’ve never flown it since.

That was 2011, by the way.

To the OP: for v5, the choice is clear - PMDG. Becuase they are already easy to use in v5, and they’ll definitely be getting official installers some time soon.

iFly is still the only aircraft I can properly get into Tibet airport with RNP-AR procedure (PMDG has no RF legs and FSL can't edit SID/STAR)

I didn't bother to get v4 version and still fly it under FS9 because it still works... but maybe I'll get their v5.
