CYQX to TNCM VDA3212

Recommended Posts

I am hoping to video my recreation of Flight VDA3212 from Gander to St Maarten. Inspired by the new (or maybe not so new) Gander scenery.

Although I must warn FS niners there are a lot of faults in it.

Here are some shots from my test flight.

Need to mop up the apron.

Pretty sure the Gulfstream G-III is involved in Covid 19 operations as well. 😎

Hurtling along at initially FL320 then FL340

90 to 100 knot crosswinds as we head south.😄

If it wasn't for Covid guaranteed the beach  would be packed!

A timely subject,Ed; I quite like that climb out shot in particular.  I haven’t tried the new Gander scenery yet, but I assume a trip through DXTFixer may be in order.

Once again, Ed, your flights screenshots are one of two, IMHO, worth following. You impart such dexterity and craft start to end, inside and outside compared to some of the 'Hey-look-at-me' screenshots. How you decipher those Russian legends in the cockpit beats me.

Ed:

Wonderful screenshots....I don't recall seeing Gander around here, before,...Of course, that fence with the "DANGER" sign, a magnet...🙂...looks like...for the aviation fans......

Great approach and Touchdown shots of this IL-76 aircraft....!!

With the necessary backtrack I kinda doubt that DHC6 made the landing. 😀

There are a lot of videos at YT about planes landing at St. Maarten with people at Maho crying at them. But I miss one with an Il-76, I only found one taken from some distance. I once heard an Il-76 with remarkable sound at TBS, and that particular one was still quite high. I have no imagination how loud it was at Maho beach...

So all I can say is: Waiting for your video, Ed!

Thank you John. It will take a bit more than DXTFixer to fix it.....You have mail btw. 😉

Thank you for the reply Harald. As usual I have been sidetracking myself with a Tu-154 paint..... but I'm back on it! The video will be made. 😎

The IL-76 which Ed is using is one with newer engines - the older "Soloviev symphony" might have brought a few complaints...

😉

I think your boss could make this for you 🙂

Nobody in your company could make this job better landing with this aircraft in St. Maarten 😉

Well done!

Normally I don't watch other people flying.
Why should I, if I can fly myself 🙂

But your vids are always very special, worth the time and great pleasure.
Not to mention that your cockpits are phantastic, the aircrafts have a lot of character and your cuts are very professional.
Thanks for adding the video now 🙂

Wonderful video, as usual, Ed, and the Volga-Dnepr color looks nice, here,...!

Noted the Autopliot pop-up with all those "colorful" (blue/green/orange/red) indicator lights, whatever they mean...to you...🙂...and, the annotations are in Russian...of course...

Good (real-looking) shots of the chin-windows...(wondering, what it would be like to be seated there (and traveling) in that section...)

Loved the SXM landing part....(are those really Picnic Tables next to the fence...??)
