Are you trying to use FS2Crew in the very latest version of the PMDG released yesterday?

No. I was using PMDG -8 version 3.00.9329

Are you using a Headset?  Do you have HS selected on the FS2Crew Main Panel?

Hard to guess.  It shuts down cleanly for me.
