P3D v5 CTD setting up triple screens

All drivers and v5 build up to date, but when I begin to set up three screens as I had in V4, OK at first when creating new view, but when I try and undock the window to drag it to one of the side monitors, I get the 'This device (NVIDEA Geoforce RTX 2080 Ti) stopped working for the following reason: UNKNOWN.'  Many reboots, starts, and reformatted my dedicated 😧 drive, so no remnants of P3D v4, but still this happens.  And now after the last few tries, it is crashing to desktop earlier on the startup screen.  I've followed al the advice here but still totally frustrated and even though P3D being my primary sim for several years, I'm moving permanently to XPlane if I can't sort this.  Is an update in a hot fix on the way that will solve this?  After years of stable use of P3D, v5 sure feels like it's been rushed to market in the panic of getting ahead of MSFS.....
