Displaying Information of VRi Combo Panels

Featured Replies

Hello,

First thank you for the wonderfull free software!

I have a question I have a MCP combo a try to set it up with the Flysimware Learjet 35a. There is already a aircraft module, however in the Learjet the altitude is dialed from from within the altimeter. On the MCP combo it doesn't show and sync correctly with this altitude.

The developers told me that this value is in the Lvar ALERTER_DIGITAL.

Where do I put this Lvar to make the connection to my MCP Combo display and sync it with the Learjet ALTSEL?

Is it also possible to show for example current speed in the Mcp Combo Display?

Hi,

Check out my new LINDA tracer video as it may help you with this problem.

I have posted a link in a new forum post to the video.

Once you have watched the video you may want to check out any modules that have used custom Lvars for the altitude to see what they did code-wise.

Cheers

Thank you for your video but it doesn't help me yet, I already obtained the correct Lvar.

Now I want this Lvar to show its value on my MCP Combo altitude display under ALT.

Anybody can help me?

So my question is how do I show a ALT Lvar on the Lcd-screen of my MCP combo?

Do I just add a small code somewhere in the already existing module?

Sorry, i dont have the mcp combo so i am not sure how it works however i suspect you would have to write lua function for alt using the lvar that you have then assign that function to the alt knob of your mcp combo to enable it to show up on the lcd panel.

As i say, i'm guessing a bit here as i dont have that panel.

Best of luck

The function DspShow() outputs to the VRi Combo. There are plenty of example functions in most main aircraft modules to follow.

I suggest you take a look at the module for a similar aircraft. There are common functions designed in them that display flight information along the lines you are looking for. These are called something like FlightInfo and are called every second to update displayed information. There are also a number of functions in common.lua that can be used to display to parts of the LCD like Dsp0, Dsp1, etc.
