Lear and Falcon - CTD after loading

Hello,

I installed the Learjet (V4.3c) and the Falcon50 (V2.0b). V5 crashes to desktop after having loaded the plane (both of them). The cockpit is visible, but no inputs are possible and after a few seconds the CTD happens.

The Mitsubishi (V2.7) also has a CTD (V2.9 is not yet ready at Simmarket).

 

I'm flying lots of hours in V5 with other airplanes, the sim is ok. Is there anything known? What could I try?

If you were using the WX Advantage weather radar in P3DV4 with the Lear or Falcon, uninstall it for now. The V4 WX Advantage DLL is incompatible with V5, and will cause an immediate CTD upon loading any aircraft that links to it, (as both the Lear and Falcon do). An updated radar is coming for V5, but it may be a while before it is available.

If you don’t have the WX Advantage installed, then the CTD is coming from something else....

Thank you, Jim. I have WX Advantage weather radar still installed in V4.5, but only use it in the 441. I now completely uninstalled it from my PC, but it did not solve the problem.

 

Then I uninstalled all my other Flysimware aircraft from V4: Nieuport, G-44, C441 (Falcon, Lear and MU-2B I already had uninstalled from V4 before). Then I did a restart of my PC and installed the Learjet into V5. Same thing, had a CTD after loading the airplane. I saw the cockpit and after 2 or three seconds the crash happened (Kernelbase.dll). No relevant entries in ContentErrors.txt. At the startup screen I changed plane to the Lear, scenery was default.

Anything I can do?

Ark (Al) might have more insight on possible causes. I do know that the WX Advantage DLL is one thing that can definitely cause a CTD on loading, but if you removed the software and it’s still happening, not sure what might be causing the crash on your system.

There are two dll files associated with the WX radar. Make sure you don't have the file MV_WXM.dll in your P3Dv5 modules folder, and MV_WX.dll is not in the P3Dv5 gauges folder.

I would also check you have the latest GTN 750 if you are using that, or install the default FSW GNS 530 just to see if it makes a difference.

Thank you Al, that was it. There was a MV_WX.dll in Prepar3D V5\gauges.

I'm running P3D V4.5 HotFix 3 and also just started getting this - I renamed MV_WX.dll in Prepar3D V4\gauges and it fixed it

weird thing is yesterday it was working fine - this morning CTD when selecting any FlySimWare aircraft that uses it

(going to research on their forum)

Im using P3DV5 HF1,  upgraded to WX Radar since i read it is V5 compatible and found that it is not ready for V5/HF1....    Geeeee...   

Well, back to my Dual GTN option.....  BTW itll be cool to have single 750/650 options without the Radar, for expl,  only 1 GTN and no radar, or 750+650 no radar.....etc....... so we can have those options until we get the WX radar updates.....  😎

The latest WX radar from Milviz is compatible with P3Dv5/HF1 -- works fine for me in the FSW planes. I purchased it from Milviz mid Sept 2020. Note that as a previous WX Radar owner, if you contact Milviz before purchasing the latest WX radar they will email you a discount code to use during the purchase. If you already have this latest WX Radar version, then there is some other issue causing a problem on your system.

Ou, thanks for clarifying...   

Actually, i couldnt find precise info to make sure, just general statement "with all hotfixes"  and some info through forums, but actually found the "Not HF1 compatible +  disable EA" comments up in their forum.     

For some reason, when uninstalling WX, im back to the air with my Learjet....  After installing it, i get CTD upon loading flight, just as others reported....When tried renaming the DLL im back to fly again...but when reinstalling and getting WX again active, well CTDs are back......

Something different i recently did was updating Nvidia drivers, dont know if this move could affect, besides that, nothing that i remember...    It was working well few days ago.   I appreciate your advice, already wrote to MV Support about it.   For isntance i took the upgrade offer few weeks ago, thanks for remembering, may be some pilots dont know yet...

I´ll be back when i discover the CTD root cause...

I just checked and I have EA on. If you are using saved flights I would try deleting those and start 'fresh'.

I don't recall seeing other reports here wrt to the latest P3Dv5 update and the Milviz WX radar. Hopefully some other users will see this thread and comment.
