GTN 750 Not Loading Databases (resolved)

Recommended Posts

Just purchased and installed a copy of RXP GTN 750 on FSX platform.  After configuring the GTN for an FSX aircraft, the GTN startup screen showed "Database Not Found".

SW Version:  6.62.0 TRNG

Reality XP:  2.5.25

Hi,

During the Garmin trainer installation, did you select Databases + GTN ?

Did you select another drive than C:\ for the databases otherwise?

Hi,

I'm sorry for the delay.

There might be a problem when installing the database to another drive like you did.

If you're feeling confident enough with regedit, can you please let me know the value of the following keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Garmin\Trainers\BinPath

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Garmin\Trainers\DataPath

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Garmin\Trainers\DBDataPath

I'm getting db not found.

My binpath C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\Trainers\

My DataPath C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\

My DBDataPath regedit entry does not exist

@bic Hi,

did you install the Trainer database in "C:" ?

Do you have any of the following files in C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\Databases :

  • nav_db2.bin
  • nav_db2_grm.bin

I moved the Garmin Trainer database to a bigger hard drive on my pc last week and now my GTN 750 in P3D says "Navigation Database Not Found..." and "Charts Not Available" and just a black background on the map page. I reinstalled RXP but no luck. What am I doing wrong? I don't really want to move the database back to C:\

I might be wrong here but I think the Trainer is meant to be installed in its default location.

I am experiencing the same issue described above. I have the database downloaded to my e:/ drive, but the GTN trainer and the GTN in X-plane say the "Database Not Found", and shows a blank black background when I turn it on.

I have found the applicable lines in Regedit, but I don't know how to make it right.

BinPath C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\Trainers\

DataPath C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\

DBDataPath does not exeist.

GtiExePath E:\Garmin\Launcher\GTI\GTI.exe

LauncherExePath E:\Garmin\Launcher\Aviation_Trainer_Launcher.exe

The below referenced files are on my E: drive.

There is also the 1GB terrain.tdb file in the same folder.

I have read the entire RealityXP manual several times, and re-read page 21 several times more. I don't know what I am supposed to do with that information.

Thanks for your help!

I would like to let you know that I was able to fix this issue myself, and I'm a little embarrassed at how easy it was to fix. I just uninstalled the Garmin GTN Trainer application, and then reinstalled from nothing. I even removed all of the databases during the uninstall process.

Once I reinstalled everything and it asked where the data should reside, I told it to go to the E: drive.

Now it works!
