Anyone Installed V5.1 on same SSD with P3DV4.5?

Recommended Posts

I have 500 GB free on a 1TB SSD and would like to give V5 a test drive without removing V4.5. I'm not planning to install avogadro's number of addons in V5.1 just keep it vanella. What can you share between the two sims? Thank you in advance.

Bob

PS The other option is run a full  acronis image backup, remove 4.5 then install 5.1. If it goes poorly fully recover from the image backup.

Yep. Works fine. Personally I only install v5 addons to v5. Some people have rigged 4.5 addons to work in v5, but I don't want to mess with that.

Same here... V4.5 and V5 on the same SSD.. no problem.

I share my a2a planes between the two sims, using the addon xml method.

I did the same and have done it time and again whenever P3D moved to a new version. It took some time, but I moved most add-ons over to V5 and when it felt 'safe' to do so,  uninstalled 4.5. No regrets.
