The “like” feature

Any thoughts on changing the “like” feature symbol...The heart thing is really odd, be nice to change from the heart to something else like a thumbs up or something 😃

I think that subject was discussed a while ago and would involve a major change to the site software.  Just wish I could get the emoticons working!

Ah! Emoticons. Just what is wrong with one set of traditional smilies? i.e. ...Gosh darn it, they've disappeared too! You know the ones I mean, they come as standard with forums

When Facebook first began taking the the Internet by storm, I felt the word "like" was for someone say, 12 years old or younger. 

But in today's social media culture, I suppose it's quite appropriate...

Because it doesn'T mean the same thing!  It is saying "stick this thumb where the sun does not shine!".

Right you are. However, I never got when I should use the heart instead of the upvote. I think a single option would be more meaningful.
