[SOLUTION] to CTDs for PMDG 747, AS 330, Maddog, QW 787

Recommended Posts

I take NO CREDIT for this solution as it was passed along to me from the kind support folks over at PMDG.  I had made several panel.cfg changes in order to get these aircraft to work in P3D V5, primarily disabling RainMaker, and TrueGlass and RealLight ... not an great solution but a work around.  However, per a PMDG user's finding ...

If you have a SimConnect.cfg in your C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents folder, rename it to something else ... that's it, nothing else.  This "solution" has taken top spot in my list of solution ... I have no idea why this is causing issues, but it solved all the CTDs I was having.

I hope this works for others, obviously there are many "other" situations that can cause CTDs, so this it not a "cure all" for everyone with a CTD, but I've done several hours of flying in the above aircraft with NO issues.

Cheers, Rob.

Ugh, I wish I did have that file there so I'd have a solution to my frequent CTD's (just stopped by the forum after CTDing in the Maddog).

Thanks for sharing in any event though Rob.

This is interesting.  This is a first for me to read about this.  I am not having any CTDs with PMDG 747 and Maddog in P3Dv5 including no VrOOMS.
