Anchorage to Juneau

Recommended Posts

This time, the distance I fly is longer and I don’t use the Transall, but the Virtavia Boeing B-47E Stratojet instead. The B-47 was the first swept-wing multi-engine bomber in service with the USAF and truly a quantum leap in aviation history. Today it is considered the forerunner of every jet aircraft in service. Its swept-wing design was actually the result of a visit of a Boeing aero-engineer to Germany, where he was shown some secret wind-tunnel data on swept-wing jet airplanes. Already as early as 1943, Boeing engineers had envisaged a jet bomber, but were unable to overcome issues with the straight wings of the day.

After having passed the majestic Glacier Bay mountains, I turn east, pass by Gustavus and head towards our destination Juneau

I especially like the 4th from last shot with the sunlight reflecting off the water and the polished wings! 😎

Oh yes, I know, what you mean, Ryan. The Hustler has a soft spot in my heart. It was the second Revell model (after the B 727) that I built as a kid. I also had it in my sim collection right up to P3D v3
