FSX-MS aircraft.cfg ordering in fsx

Probably a stupid question but, before I plunge in, it seemed sensible to ask here as searches have produced no results.

I do quite a lot of modifying of  aircraft,cfg files to change values to suit (things like "views" , "lights" placings etc).

Generally this will be trial and error and I will select another aircraft while changing the values before reloading the target to check the effect -clearly a lengthy process.

This would be a lot easier if I had some way of locating the target section quicker.

I was wondering if its possible to reorder the sections in the individual aircraft.cfg file (specifically in alpha order) so that I can find them quicker? -or does fsx need to read them in the order placed by the developer?

I simply use notepad or wordpad and use the "find" function with a few letters like "brak", or "autop"

Interesting question! I might be wrong but the only part of the aircraft.cfg which I know has to be to be in order are the different liveries [fltsim.X], [fltsim.X+1], etc. If you miss out on one of the sequence then the subsequent liveries will not appear in the aircraft selection menu. They need not however all be grouped together and indeed in some of my aircraft the livery entries are split with some at the beginning of the cfg and the rest at the end!

Just to add to this suggestion, I believe but I havent tried myself, that if you use Notepad ++, you can actually define a bookmark at a certain line in the .cfg file and save it as a bookmark.  Then you can search and select the bookmark at a subsequent time based on what you previously saved. If you find you are altering some of the sections in the aircraft.cfg on a regular basis you could set up the bookmarks in this way to find a certain sim section.

Greycap461, you can reorder the sections.  There's nothing here saying the sections have to be in a specific order.
