Payload Manager

Recommended Posts

Good afternoon,

Could you confirm that the payload manager works in P3D V5?

I do not seem to be able to add or subtract fuel or payload via the popup.

I have taken a look at a previous post regarding someone not being able to make it work in FSX/SE but I am not sure that is applies for this version.

Thank you

I am able to use the payload manager in V5, but since I use FSE I am unable to use it, and have a special mod to accommodate FSE.

All I did was add this to your DLL.XMLfile in your users/roaming e.t.c, e.t.c file

<Launch.Addon>
      <Name>XMLTools64</Name>
      <Disabled>False</Disabled>
      <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
      <Path>XMLTools64.dll</Path>
      <DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>
      <DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>
   </Launch.Addon>

Hope this helps

Hi Steve,

My file looks the same as yours but the payload manager still isn't working.

Having to alter fuel via p3d tab, which is not perfect.

The manual says that the payload manager can be accessed from the windows start menu but I can only find it in the sim itself.

Check that:

1. Engines are not running

2. You have the parking brake on

3. Fuel truck is loaded

4. You have the XMLtools.dll file in your sim's root directory.

Hello,

Without knowing what exactly isn't working it's too hard to find the problem but what you could try is:

1) Make sure the XMLTools64.dll is located in your P3D main folder, the same as where your .exe is located (Lockheed...\Prepar3D v4), if it's in a different location, either copy to the main folder or add the path to it  -> <Path>XMLTools64.dll</Path>

2) Make sure the fuel truck is connected (lower right corner)

3)Make sure you have some kind of power GPU/APU/ENGINES. Note that if you're using GPU you need to set the switch on the overhead to EXT. POWER

Regards

Thanks guys.

Thought I'd tried all the options but discovered that the ext power switch has 3 positions, not two.

What sim, and what version of the Falcon50?

Is this a new, first time install?

Is it just the fuel you can't change, or the passengers and baggage also?

Can you get the fuel truck to load into the Payload Manager?

Al

Sorry, should've been more specific. P3D v4.5 and version 2.0b of the Falcon. First time install, couldn't get anything to work so uninstalled, restarted, reinstalled, same result. I see all the numbers lit up, I can get the fuel truck to show up, but I just can't change any value on the pax, bags, or fuel.

From your first post I take it you have checked that you have the XMLtools64.dll file in your P3Dv4 directory, and have the related XMLtools entry in the DLL.XML as shown in one of the posts above.

This is worth double checking because if I disable my XMLtools64.dll file by renaming it and then start the sim, I get the situation you have described -- Payload Manger lights up, I can load the fuel truck, but I can't change any values.

Is there anything you would call non-standard about your P3Dv4.5 install, like it's in a non-standard location?

Yeah I checked everything. The only thing non standard is the location of P3D install. On the D drive instead of C. I may have it working though, I need to check again tonight. I did another uninstall and reinstall and this time copied the text for the dll.xml from this thread instead of the help me page. We’ll see if the third time is the charm.
