Obtaining time between legs

Recommended Posts

Ive just recently purchased the GTN and wondering is their a way or is it possible to obtain a time to each leg. I was online today and ATC asked me at what time I expect to be at a particular way point. I just gave him an estimate. or is this not possible with the GTN

Unusual in the USA.  What ATC were you participating with?  It is usually the responsibility of ATC to monitor and control your arrival times at checkpoints in their systems based on information they have available at their end.  They most often will at times request you confirm or provide them with your airspeed and take steps to request you make changes in your speed as they control your arrival time(s).

If you just wish to see your estimated arrival times then do this:

When on the Flight Plan page of the GTN, click on the Menu icon at the bottom of the screen.
Click Edit Data Fields
Click on one of the column headers
Scroll to find and select ETA - Est Time of Arrival

When you return to the Flight Plan page you will see the ETA for each waypoint in the column you selected.  That is if you have a flight plan activated and you are airborne and moving....

Now your Topic title referred to Time Between Legs.  That is different than ETA but also available in the list of options as ETE.
