This is nice to see. 😉

A number of simmers had complained about access to these files though a Facebook page and private FB group you needed to subscribe to in order to acess the files.

I am glad to see these are now more widely available.

Thank you Cartayna and Simmarket for listening. 👏

Cheers

It all depends if you own or plan on owing airports on that list that don't already support GSX. Many got patched by their developers and now include GSX but some don't, so it's really up to you. Of course, being free, it doesn't hurt to have it as a backup in case you ever need.

Igor

I upgrade my DD EWR/DCA and Fly Tampa TNCM with the glass jetways.  I just like the look and felt like a change there.  Very cool to actually see gsx pax walking up the jetway

Hi:

I know this isn't a good place for support but I need some help please.  I installed the config. for MK BIKF.  However on some of the stands, I have 2 jetways.  I cannot locate another file that contains jetways either in the actual scenery file or gsx file to remove.  Any help?  I don't have facebook to ask for support.01Sxq5G.jpg

Hello,

I don't have that particular airport or have never installed Cartayana's GSX profiles before but I;m going to try to help.

When you go to GSX parking configuration screen where you have all the gates/parkings listed on the left, what BGL file GSX is taking info from? The BGL is listed on top of that screen. It might be that GSX is still using the original BGL so what you're seeing are the new GSX jetways and the originals ones form the scenery.

Or it might have been that you missed a step and left the original BGL active too while installing Cartayna's profile. So I would go back to the installation instructions and make sure you haven't missed anything.

I'm sorry that I can't be more helpful, I wouldn't mind checking the files myself and even sending a functional one if I had the particular scenery.

Hope that helps.

regards,

Igor

EDIT: I forgot to mention, usually, the good developers, and MK Studios is one of them, have a BGL just for jetways, and they;re easy to spot (usually has jet, jtw, jetway as part of the name) so it's just a matter of renaming, or deleting that particular BGL, just please, don't forget to make a copy of it before deleting any files.

Thanks for your help!  I've too have check your suggestions and still can't seem to get it to work.  Since this isn't support forum, I'll leave it for now and just uninstall.

Again, appreciate your help.

Hi Aron,

The jetways that come with the MK BIKF scenery are controlled by a SODE xml-configuration. You will find the file "MKSTUDIOS_Keflavik4_V4.xml" in "C:\ProgramData\12bPilot\SODE\xml". Rename the file to .off and the jetways of the scenery will be gone. However, the same file does also contain the configuration for the VDGS and the windsocks.

Cartayna's files are surely nice with the pushback procedures but I never understood why the Cartayna developer feels the need to replace custom jetways at airports that come with SODE with GSX jetways. Most developers create custom jetway models for their airport and they have the same functionality as GSX L2. Thus, it is not necessary to change them.

Thanks Christoph.  I tried that.  But when I did do that, the default jetways disappeared but then there were no jetways and a big red "X"s was placed in those spots.

If you can see in the lower right and center of the picture I posted, there are 2 blue default jetways.  When I turned that file you mentioned off, those were deleted, red "X" and no jetway.

Thank you everyone!

Hi there, this is Cartayna Files, the reason for me on adding jetways to airports is simple, it was due to the tons of petitions of users wanting either glass jetways or different jetways... And if users such as you prefer the default jetways, you can find "default" configurations on all of them for users to be able to enjoy pushbacks, etc. Thus having "more" when can be chosen can never be a problem i think.. As you know also, if you install any GSX configuration and do not remove the default sode jetwyas, they have priority over gsx and you will not see gsx's.

cheers

Javier:

I very much appreciate your work.  Unfortunately though, despite following your instructions provided in the download, I frequently still have duplicate jetways.  Not only at BIKF but also EGCC.

I tried a couple but the installation was not a success, I saw no discernable difference. I ended up removing them.

I'm having trouble getting cancun to work.  Though I'm liking the ones for TNCM, KDCA, KEWR.  The cancun one only shows the half of the jetway attached to the building.  Glass ones do not show at all?
