I needed to get a tablet anyway. 😄 Here's the question that I'm asking myself - a decent 10" Tablet for me will set me back $300 Cdn but on the other hand Aivlasoft is about $80 Cdn. just depends how bad you are willing to pay for the option. Now having said that my biggest gripe with either Navigraph is that it's monthly/yearly, and Aivlasoft is one time but I like the "published" VFR sectionals and IFR Hi/Low which FltGo has for free. Now the solution to ALL OF THIS would be a SkyVector P3D (working) API with tracking but oh well. FS20 is around the corner and waiting to see their Flight Aware partnership. So - decisions have to be made. Ryzen 5 5600X - Noctua U12A, 32Gb Vengence, Sapphire Pulse 5700xt, WD Black SN750 NVMe SSD
June 13, 20205 yr Author some great feedback thanks all, actually i discovered the flight sim in google earth pro this is the best way to fly a route for familiarization before a real flight to get a pretty close representation of what you will actually see in real life, it just needs a heading and altitude hold as its very difficult to look around due to the sensitivity of the controls. Hopefully when MSFS2020 comes out will be able to use for true VFR flight Thank all Wayne Wayne such Asus Hero Z690, Gigabyte Aorus Master 5080, I914900K, Kraken 360 AIO CPU Cooled, 96 GIGS Corsair DDR5, 32 Inch 4K by 3
June 14, 20205 yr OP - "can I connect P3D v5 to satellite maps?" Avsim users - provide 2 pages of information on how to do this. OP - "Actually, I'm going to wait for MSFS" - ARRGH!, not another one feeling the need to post this - PLUS, in a new and previously unseen twist, suggests in a P3D forum, that the Google Earth flight sim is better. 😧 Despite OP wasting everyones time with this post, thanks to those who posted solutions as there's a lot of great ideas here. I wasn't aware of the littlenavmap satellite addon, will definitely try it out. If you want to use P3D v5 for flight familiarization, suggest building ortho tiles for your local area if not commercially availablr, and using with FS Widgets IG Map HD if you have an iPad, or LittleNavMap if you don’t for satellite imagery. Will be an awful lot more realistic than Google Earth if you goal is to simulate a flight.
