I wouldn't think it will be next week or maybe even later. See https://forums.hifisimtech.com/threads/open-beta-5-b7472-posted.11960/#post-57054 for some honest thoughts.

I'm pretty sure LM was originally aiming for it to go out this week, but delayed it until next week for a couple more fixes. I believe that's the delay HiFi is referring to.

I think he was referring to :-

And just another 2 to 3 weeks after that for PMDG and FSL to beta it and release NGXu and A3xx

I've done the math:

NGXu time to release = 3 weeks x (PMDG constant) = 16.24 weeks.

A320 time to release = 3 weeks x (FSL constant) = 73.233333 weeks.

So - in PMDG time - it's not long til til we'll be flying these excellent aircraft in our new, shiny sim. 🙂

Sorry for the very naive question. Does that mean I won't have to uninstall P3D? I'm just curious about the process, what I do about add ons etc?

Cheers guys

You don't have to uninstall the whole P3D application, but you have to uninstall / reinstall the separate components : uninstall /reinstall is needed for the client component but is optional for the content and scenery components.

https://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6322&t=120861

As for the add-ons : the one installed with the add-on.xml method should be fine, for the other one it depends...

Good luck.

Using this formula, I have done a similar calculation for the estimated completed release date of the Black Box Simulations A320 prelude series. It works out as follows:

3 weeks x (BBS Prelude average patch speed) x excuses based on the tilt of the Earth affecting time variation, expressed as -7.655 sin d + 9.873 sin (2d + 3.588) = 16.45 years.

Don't be so sure, pmdg will want to drip sell some more of those 747s first (even though it ctds when right clicking out of the VC) first.

I expect editable shaders, layered clouds and of course water! Maybe Rob will tell you if there are any such changes?

Off topic. I sent you a PM last Monday which you still haven't read. I would urge you to read it.

As we now know that HF2 is at the point of release, perhaps the beta testers are allowed to tell us what HF2 fixed or added .... ?

For those that wish to only do the client update, please be sure to reset your shaders and prepard.cfg.

This will ensure that you really get most of the fixes going.

HF2 feels like a total new sim and I would recommend to do a full installation instead but if you opt for only client at least do as I advised above.

Just a minor correction: I think you might have left out the constant of 'it's done when it's done', which is infinity. Thus, the answer is: infinity.

They won't do a full installation  I'm afraid Simbol.  They like down and dirty quick fixes like a magic bullet theory.

Alas I can't agree more, surely a full reinstall will be better in the long run but they will just skip it and do the client only you watch and we will have pages of topics on here about sims not starting,  sims disappeared from the desktop, ctds and all sorts.  You're talking to the wall mate, they won't do it.
