These are supposed to be drivers that fully support DX12 (the last 4xx.xx were still DX11) will probably (as usual), need a hotfix. (often check forums at guru3d.com - nVidia drivers forum).

Variable Rate Shading  and Mesh shaders is a big deal and can really help in Flight sim is LM decide to implement.

I just tried it within VR. This decreased my performance about 75% (40FPS to 12 FPS). So for VR users most likely unusable as it is now, at leat in my case.

Ok, 5 minutes test :D.

For me it works and.... works nice! In normal view I recived +10-20 FPS (it was 120-125 FPS in my test, no I have 140-144 in the same location), for VR stable 45 FPS, smooth view with motion reprojection ON. P3Dv5 HT2.

Later I'll do longer flight, now Id like to check it in DCS.

Check in Driver settings >>> programms >>> GPU high performance (not integred card, I see new option now, default with P3D I had integred, dont know why).

With this new option, in IL2 with my HP Reverb i had a very strong reduction of frames. Unusable in VR for me.

I’m also very interested in vram impact and how this new driver impacts it. Can anyone speak about more vram being available, or does it help balance it better (sorry, no hardware guru here 😉

I’d love to try this out on my 2080 (8gb only).

Cheers,

Pete

It looks a little strange in VR. Motion Reprojection has a problem with this. See this:

HP Reverb, 90 Hz refresh rate DCS, I have ... 60 FPS (?).

DON0Sgdm.jpg

After few test the best way is to have Motion Reprojection FORCED ON > for P3Dv5 HT2 works ok for me (stable 45), but in DCS I have 45 also (and looks good) but sometimes it jumps to 60 (and it broke MR). Need more tests from my side.

No impact on VRAM usage here.
