July 20, 20205 yr Here we go again, just like "study level" on aircraft. To me MSFS2020 is revolutionary in scenery, 3d modeling of aircraft, weather, etc. Prepar3d is established but lacking in realistic world scenery and is still using old FS2004 methods with work arounds. I'm still using Prepar3d v4.5 but don't see any real improvements to justify a full priced purchase of v5.0.

BUT, what happens is User X sees a video from User Y, and wonders why his sim doesn’t look as good, User Y provides the “tweak” and we come full circle. Back when I was a beta tester for MS Flight I begged them to include this very thing, a flight sim benchmark. A pre-loaded short flight plan that would ignore any tweaks and lock all settings to level the playing field for a fair comparison between fellow simmers. This would be a great addition to have in the new sim, FS2020 or P3DV5. And as an added benefit flight simulation would get more exposure from some review sites now running benchmarks. I know but nothing looks different "to me". They should have at least improved the generic textures with high-res quality even the Orbx True-Earth never changed. Edited July 21, 20205 yr by SP2472

ESP is the 'not for entertainment' version of FSX - the P3D of it's day. Robin "Onward & Upward" ... To the Stars, & Beyond...

Either way, a benchmark would be cool to have. (through all these years) not recognizing any of my sims as a game (P3D, XP and MSFS) and they are not listed as supported games in nVidia website, unless I'm missing something, it is rendered useless for me as I only Sim and that is what we are discussing here.
