Display Problems in FSX

Recommended Posts

I am running Microsoft FSX on Windows 10, 64bit and am experiencing corrupted views when using Carenado aircraft such as the P42 Cheyenne III and also the PMDG 737NGX.

I have a powerful computer with an i7 octacore processor, 8Gb Nvidea GTX2070 graphics card and 32Gb RAM.

I have some photos of corrupted images when in external view  but I can't attach them to this page unfortunately. I have 3 monitors from the same graphics card and when I drag an undocked instrument to one of the other screens it goes black but on the main screen it shows ok.

Has anyone had similar problems and have a solution to resolve this? I will be pleased to receive any suggestions.

Thank you,

Welcome to the AVSIM forums!  Read through this link to help with posting screenshots.  Are all 3 monitors at the same resolution settings?

Do you have DirectX 10 preview enabled, or are you running in DirectX 9? I ask, because a recent Win10 update broke DirectX 9 support for Nvidia GPUs and one of the symptoms is a black screen. IIRC DirectX9 support can be established by downloading and installing a specific release of DirectX9c.

Thank you both for your replies, I will look at the resolutions and installing DirectX 9c when I have determined which version I have on my main computer.

I notice that someone else is having the same problem with a black screen which also occurs when I go into full screen mode meaning that I have to shut down FSX and start again.

If I have success with DirectX 9c I will let you know.

Kind regards,

Martin

Sometimes I find unplugging and then replugging the display helps to "reset" the black screen when a display is moved to another monitor in the same flight.
