their Beech D-18S is very good

That's the only one of theirs on my wish list...maybe the C185 Bush too at a push 🙂

Their Cessna 337 isn't bad either, nor is their AC11 Commander 114.

Carenado doesn't claim system depth for their planes.

Yes they do hence the frustration for many after buying them.

Carenado includes the default systems P3d provides. Anybody who doesn't know this by now and continues to complain, well, I don't know what to tell you.

We do know this. That's why we don't respect them much.

Go back and look at the direction the thread went. We were talking about Carenado not being one of the more respectable devs. We were not saying "don't buy Carenado." No one complains when someone holds the French Laundry in higher esteem than Denny's. Same thing here. Carenado makes cheap planes that scratch an itch for some people, but they don't put the time, effort, and artistry into them that the more *respectable* devs do.

Artistry - I would say that Carenado certainly do put the artistry in, just not the systems engineering, but... semantics 🍻

I don't think it is fair to say that all their planes suck.

Here is the thing. Even the planes that people argue "suck" don't actually suck. It's just that people love to whine and complain about Carenado, trotting out the same arguments over and over.

Nah, their Cessna C441 genuinely does suck, and blow, at the same time. Frankly, it'd have to be twice as good as it is now, just to qualify as bloody awful. 🤣

Wouldn't be surprised if Carenado came out the gate pretty quickly with a few of their biz jets ready for MSFS 2020. Whereas, we'll probably have to wait 10-20 years for some of the "more respected" addon developers to release stuff for MSFS 2020.

10-20 years!

Really! It adds so much weight to your arguments.^^ like below

I'm fine with aircraft that do not have the best system complexity, but I don't think it's fine that they keep releasing add-on after add-on with tons of bugs, that only sometimes are fixed with patches which end up breaking other stuff, and let alone the poor performance optimisation. If you check the complaints on their Facebook page, they seem to have totally dropped the ball with their X-Plane 11 releases which is not a good sign.

I sincerely hope they will step up the quality control and not just fill the marketplace with buggy and unoptimised aircraft. As long as they do that, I will be looking forward to getting many of their add-ons. There is always a place for aircraft that do not have the systems fully modelled.

Yes there is, but it will be interesting to see how the default 152 with the new flight dynamics is. I would suggest trying a few of the defaults to see if Carenado will be a good step up! A2A are on board so thats great new, unless we have to wait 10-20year^^ for them also. 🤪

Is it confirmed that the C152 is supplied by Carenado? That's interesting, since their only C152 is from the Flight Simulator 2004/X era, so at least it won't be a bad port.

If one is expecting the avionics on such stuff as their Diamond Twins to rival more expensive offerings, that's going to lead to disappointment for sure, but so long as you don't want to do complex IFR procedures with their systems, they do the job and look pretty.

We all know this by now, how often are you going to repeat the same word not allowed over and over. Don't buy the stuff. Case closed.
