Something I've been noticing and not liking about the nite lighting is that it has the same issue that FSX had where ground tiles in the distance are shaded in such a way that they appear too easily seen at nite...it's as if the splash lighting is way over the top too strong and tiles seem to be lit or too bright but instead should in fact be appearing black, in the nite. Looking out in the distance at a large city seems to show most of the ground tiles all lit up or shaded to brightly (not sure which it is).

That being said the stuff in closer, underneath your plane, seen at lower altitude is a nice improvement. But it still seem like nite time in FS2020 is too bright as compared to RL situations. Even the fuselage itself has too much splash or improper nite texturing making it too easy to see. Things should appear darker/more blackened as far as their surface texturing.

Get in close though and it begins to look as brilliantly done as XP11 at nite (and in some cases better).

Correct. It was not like that in the first alphas. We’ve been begging them to change it back ever sense. I hope they listen.

Hmm, doesn't seem as though they're going for real with the nite lighting then, since it's still so bright at this late stage. If it stays this way then I'd say that XP11 has it beat in this regard.

This will effect me quite often, unfortunately, since I do the vast majority of my flying at nite and near where I live which is a very large city area (Long Island, NY and the surrounding areas of the northeast U.S.)

A photographer showing alot of the camera options and recreating some of his real life shots. At 13:05 it shows how FS renders a real life tree in a lake!

I know some people are having a laugh at the people who are, say, landing their A320 on the Las Vegas taxiway while doing a Tokyo drift - but I have to say, I find it really fun watching a bunch of non-simmers (or long, long lapsed Microsoft Flight Sim users who haven't used it since their childhood with dad), putting up footage of them clumsily learning the ropes and making funny mistakes.  It's fun watching people rediscover the hobby!

In conclusion:  OVERSPEED OVERSPEED OVERSPEED OVERSPEED OVERSPEED OVERSPEED

I like the part where the IGN employee decides to cruise at 6,000 FT and then has to gain altitude mid flight to avoid crashing into some mountains lmao.

I HAVE A BIG SMILE ON MY FACE!

There are two things that I'm taking away from watching all these fantastic videos:

1) FS2020 is everything I'd thought it would be and my expectations have already been exceeded.

2) Most airports by ORBX, FlyTampa, Flightbeam etc. are going to fit nicely in MS2020. FT TNCM needs to be updated and released ASAP.

I can't wait till release day. It's time to do a full reboot of my OS and get my drive ready for an immediate download upon release.

Hi reignman40,

Thanks for the excellent presentation. I haven't had my hands on MSFS2020 yet, so your ideas on photography were interesting. Photography is one of my hobbies and I was curious about using the sim camera for pure scenic shots. I take numerous screenshots of aircraft in various flight conditions, but this new sim really increases photo ops.

Please consider an update as the sim continues to develop.

Ahhh the Nevada desert. Cant wait to fire up this sim and watch some late afternoon thunderstorms drop ungodly amounts of water on the parched landscape. A little strange that ATC had him land on the closed runway.
