8.33 kHz fixed?

Recommended Posts

We know 8.33 kHz channel spacing will be there since the IFR Episode and in the very same video we also had to witness it's faulty implementation. Any news on the issue that are publicly available, anything in the many videos which no one can possibly watch? I might have missed something but I feel nobody is really messing around with those basic features. Have never seen just one person tune in a frequency by hand in any of those videos. Not that I couldn't wait another week or so to find out myself it might still be wrong, just being curious as we're a few versions further down the road.

Interesting reaction (none 🤣). Can't believe no one has noticed this obvious flaw, but to further explain: it was announced in the IFR episode there would be "native support" for 8.33 kHz channel spacing and yet in the very same video we saw its wrong implementation. There is no such channel as 119.270 that could be set on a COM radio. The only valid channels next to this are 119.265 and 119.275. As pointed out before, to the untrained eye it could seem the channel could just be incremented by .005 all the time, which is not the case. More details can be found on the web, but it's not as simple as adding .005 and get to the next channel. It depends on the underlying frequencies.

So in case anyone has more information or seen any details on this issue in some video I might have missed, I'd be glad to know.

Ok, really no one seems to care or even notice, but on a positive note, this issue has been fixed. Thanks Asobo! 👍🏻😅

Thanks, good to know I was not alone at least. 😅 So in the end it did work out, so that’s all good. One less thing to worry about. 😬
