Sunrise Over the Grand Canyon TBM 930

Recommended Posts

Note how the aircraft is continually moving / squirming around through the air.

This movement through the fluid moving air is what best simulates flying and makes this sim the best and most realistic flying environment we've ever had.

Especially in a light aircraft, the immersion is off the charts.

My eye twitched a bit when he couldn't figure out how to set the altimeter and didn't realize the A/P master on the o/h was off, which is why the A/P wouldn't engage.

The desert and canyon in the summer with the heat and unstable air looked to be in play I should think.

And that's as it should be. Same for flying over mountains.

Anyone who's flown light aircraft knows how much the aircraft is constantly moving around and if hand flying especially, you're continuously making pitch and heading adjustments.

yep it sure is, it's why Ive stayed with XP for so long now...really looking forward to finally seeing this aspect in the MS platform!

I especially like the part at around 10:25 where he runs into a bit of a bumpy pocket of air and the plane bounces around...nice 🙂

I'd actually expect it to be pretty butter smooth that time of the morning, even in Arizona.

There's definitely still work to be done on how turbulence and wind affect the planes.

Autopilot does that in FSX also I believe.

I live in the desert southwest- It can be calm or it can be windy regardless of the time of day. On the day this video was taken there was obviously wind.

Nah, I'm saying in my experience, like XP11, there's work to be done on how wind effects the planes. FSX is too on rails, XP11 and MSFS are too unstable at times. Wind does not always = wild turbulence in real life.
