is the majestic dash 8 still worth it?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I'm looking for some new stuff and I'm very tempted to buy thedS 8 for p3dv4/5.

I have to start with the basics but there is a lot of information about that particular aircraft like tutorials and forums. I also like the fact that it is fps friendly. I have fslab320(fps killer), aerosoft320, all a2a ga airçraft but never took the time to learn to fly them properly. I love the fact that the dash 8 isn't a jet ad it is not super large.

The dash 8 is quite old however. Is it still worth 50 Euro? I haven't been able to try this plane in p3d, only in aeroflyfs2.

Is the dash 8 ok in VR

Thanks for your thoughts!

Yes, absolutely worth the price.

I run on a big screen rather than VR, so can't speak to its performance in VR..

Majestic‘s Dash 8 Q400 for P3D is still an outstanding addon. It runs perfectly well in VR.

Short answer: Yes!

Longer answer: Yes! It's great! Next question?

Proper answer: I highly rate the Q400.  It might not be as pretty as the PMDG 737 NGXu nor the Leonardo Maddog with PBR textures. Yet it is a very detailed option, that requires more of your involvement in the flying of it, and has the lightest performance impact on your sim.

It is the best add-on aeroplane for FSX or P3D bar none, and also probably the best value as well. You will not be disappointed.

The Q-400 is one of my favourite planes to fly in VR.  It’s a nice change from flying the big iron.

I will be purchasing it again if it becomes available for the new MFS. I think it’s well worth it.

I have the Pro Version with the HUD.

Totally recommend the Pro version if you can afford it!

"Is it still worth 50 Euro? " If you purchased this aircraft for FSX, as I did, Majestic gave me an upgrade price of 7 euro. More than worth it!!

Well, just chiming in here.... YES!  HECK YES!  YOU BETCHA!!!

I'm  biased as I worked the project from Alpha throughout Beta and through release, but that doesn't change the fact that it's absolutely impressive in every category!

If you jump, jump directly to the Pro version.  It's the best deal and you won't be sorry!

Yes absolutely.  Fantastic aircraft and an amazing turboprop simulation.  I’d suggest that if you go for it, do yourself a favour and buy the Immersive Audio Q400 soundpack...it really brings it to life.

Yes. Absolutely worth the price. Superb aircraft, modelling and systems. And, it's fun plane to fly - once you get the hang of it.

May I also recommend the Airline2Sim Cadet Training Program. It's excellent!
(A shame, that Ben suddenly disappeared. I had such high hopes for his (upcoming) projects).

Sorry for slight off-topic.

Hi, thanks for the info!

I'm a bit hesitant to buy the airline2sim videos because I understand the producer is indeed disappeared. I read on another forum that people couldn't login to see their videos and that Ben has not replied his email for more than a year....

Why should I get the pro version of the dash?

Cheers

I'd rate it as the second best airliner in VR for P3D v5, after the MD-82. Beautiful, smooth performance.

Also well worth the modest (by P3D standards) price.

The Majestic dash 8 is majestic.  An amazing addon with almost no fps hit, and great systems.  But it's for an outdated sim.  I'll definitely consider purchasing for the new sim though!
