Throttle keep moving

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I 've looked here on the forum but couldn't find nothing.  I have 2 saiteks throttle quadrant and with P3D4.5 the engine 2 throttle lever moves by itself. I have hard time to keep the engine 2 at the same RPM as the engine 1. Any idea? Many thanks.

Maybe I misunderstand your question, but my intermittent throttle movement was caused by dirty contacts internal to the throttle. It would never maintain a position. I solved it by tipping it onto its side and spraying a contact cleaner inside. Regards.

Great. I do this quite often whenever I see that "jerking" effect.

I get this with a brand new throttle quadrant and curiously it is worse if I assign axes through FSUIPC and worse in Win10 than Win 7.

I started having an issue with this and discovered that somehow P3Dv5 had assigned the axis in the Controls in addition to my FSUIPC assignment.  A phantom axis on another controller is also a possibility...pays to go through every one of your controllers listed in the Controls menu and make sure there are no unintended assignments.  Axes on game controllers have always been a potential problem.

Also, in FSUIPC, make sure the axis Delta value isn't too small--less than 32 will often give me a jittering controller.  Some jitter is a fact of life...if the Delta threshold is sufficiently high it'll filter that out.

To see if there's an issue with the device itself, there's a handy free utility on Leo Bodnar's site called DIView--it will show you the raw data coming from all your Direct Input devices, and if the unit is throwing spikes or just unreasonably noisy, it'll be obvious watching it there.   http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=page&id=12
