Well, if you can't believe the developers themselves...:"The prior version recommended avoiding the use of the Microsoft Flight Planner, and that recommendation is still appropriate for this new version, but with stronger emphasis. The Microsoft Flight planner SHOULD NOT be used. Now that the G1000 has full access to the GPS database of waypoints and approaches, all flight planning should be done through the G1000 screens"...who can you believe...? I'm not making this up myself... ;) So you say you CAN use the planner?

I love the G1000 also now.Also very little impact on FPS.:)

Although, except for possibly printing out the "Navigation Log" from the flightplanner, there's really no reason to open it...

There are full manuals for the G1000 for both Cessna and Baron at the Garmin website: http://www.garmin.com/support/userManual.j...All&product=AllEasy to read and follow with lots of images. A must-have!
