fsx 737-800 not following the GPS flight route

Featured Replies

Hi allI am having a problem getting the 737-800 to follow the GPS path when in autopilot mode.I turn the GP/Nav to GP -the plane holds what ever heading is in the dialled window.I have no problem in the 747-I select the GP/Nav and select NAV from the panel switch.I can't find any other switches in the 737,only GP/NAV ,shouldn't there be a NAV/HD HOLD switcht as well-like the 747.Looking forward to your help.Beans.

Maybe you got HDG SEL still activated?

Make sure you have the 'LOC' switch turned on (lit) when your tryingto use the GPS mode.. Thats what I found anyway..Ooops make that read 'VOR LOC' I should have said...

Thanks for the suggestions-I will give them ago.Beans

I have the same problem, over and over again people suggest pilot error. It's not pilot error, everything is configured correctly . The VOR LOC hold is not working in nav nor gps mode, aircraft just rolls to the right without limitation. I have installed the b738_gaufix mod if that could be affecting it somehow. I was also using FsP when it happened

When does this happen? Shortly after take off? Have you checked the flighplan? If for example the first point of your flightplan is shortly after the runway and you miss it the a/c will try to reach that first waypoint after activating the VOR LOC mode which might result in a turn to the opposite direction in order to go back to the first waypoint.

It does work - on mine at least! I just did it to check. Make sure you have a Direct to enabled on GPS or Flight plan loaded. Switch NAV/GPS to GPS. Press CMD A on autopilot to turn it on. Press VOR LOC on autopilot. On your PFD display you should see the word LOC in green. The aircraft will now follow the route.

Cheers

Dave

Wow... that must have been one of my first posts over here...   :P

At least the reviver uses the search function! Kudos for that!

Haha wow I did not look at those dates, my apologies. The problem actually just went away after I did a reinstall, never found out what was actually causing it. Thanks Dave but I made sure I set the AP correctly several times on different routes that's why it was so puzzling.
