Thanks. Almost started on the wrong drive. I assumed it would have selected automatically, since my initial install is there.

Mine was hanging "Checking for updates" and had to close the sim like 5 times before it started to install... So far 45min when a true installation started and 70GB done from 91.5GB

I had the very same problem. I reinstalled leaving the packages route at C drive. The game´s is in another drive.

 I only had a blue bar which was not moving at all after  30 minutes or more.

So I unistalled and reinstalled and it worked (the first time I chose a different drive for the packages route. This time I left it at C drive)

Ahh I see. I tried that now too, but I only have about 70GB free on my C drive (it's only an OS drive), so it wouldn't let me - even though the launcher is just 1gb.

How did you find out that was the issue? I am stuck on the "Press Any Key to Start" Black screen and only the beautiful music is playing. Does this mean it is downloading ? I dont get the feeling it is downloading or doing anything. Really stuck.

Same here

It downloaded at 30GB then completely froze.  Then uninstalled the game and reinstalled now stuck at blue bar which is slowly moving..

No idea..   I just bought the games pass for $1 to try it.

No it is not downloading, it is stuck you can stop it.

Run Windows Update and update everything. 
Make sure XBOX Gaming Services is installed and up to date, Update everything in Windows Store
Restart Windows
Run MSFS in Administration Mode

Holly fu... it's like from a 25th century comparing to P3Dv5 or X-Plane 11... Do you guys have 787 dreamliner? I got this max package. Not seeing dreamliner.

Although I see a process called Gaming Services in the Task Manager,  I do not see anything called Xbox Gaming Services in my apps or in the MS Store. Where do i find this to install? (Note: I haven't hit my install window yet... another 5 hours, but im trying yo make sure im set up for a smooth experience when the time comes)

just go to Apps > Store and search Xbox in the search bar.

 

Search results should appear below that and then just select Xbox and install. After it installs it will appear in your WIndows Apps list. Click on it in the Apps list and it will ask you to sign in. Use your Microsoft sign in credentials.
