Started download before going to bed, woke up and everything seemed to be working until I clicked the fly button. Then nothing. Can’t get it to load any flights. Just stays on loading screen when I try a bush mission. So uninstalled and now re downloading. Wish there was a way to keep the installation files on the computer so we don’t need to re download for hours whenever we want to reinstall 🙄

update from MS Chat

Hello Malcolm,
I am Sonia, Independent Windows Advisor.
Here to help you.
Hope you are doing well today.
This issue with download of flight simulator is occurring a lot from yesterday. It is an server issue and it will fixed soon.

Me ... When you first start the download, It downloads the installer and then it tells you to start the game, When the game opens , it then tells me to press any key to start and the window just shuts down

Sonia , Yes it is server issue. Your game isn't available to authenticate with the servers that's why it is happening. Wait one or two days as it is saying.

This issue with download of flight simulator is occurring a lot from yesterday. It is an server issue. Unfortunately, 300,000 people in Kiribati downloaded this sim all at once. We had only planned for 5 downloads from that country, so our server unfortunately melted, which shorted out the rest of our systems. We would like to fix this soon, but are waiting on payment of reparations by the President of Kiribati, SeanMo.

And that is why I get bugged when people can’t just wait until their assigned time... it’s not that hard people. A video game...

Is it possible, that I only can install this game on my C-Drive, because in the Microsoft Store it doesn't let me choose another one.

I wouldn't say it was flawless but it went ok...first go at launching it it got stuck on the blue progress bar so I closed it and re-opened it and then it took me to the 90gb download screen and it downloaded from 12:10am-about 12:50am this morning and I was able to fly a flight without problem.  I did notice a few glitches with the in game search bars not seemingly working right.

When you run the installer, it will offer you to choose what Drive/Folder you want to use.

Other than my power going out halfway through the download causing me to start over, everything went smoothly.

Im stuck on the blue bar AFTER the 90GB install and several small updates. Anyone else had this and fixed it ?

No, not the installer. I am talking about the initial download in Microsoft Store. I just can select C but C has oly 32 GB which is not sufficient. D has plenty of space but I can't chose it.

When I downloaded the smaller pre-install launcher, it offered me a choice of drive...

...however I chose C because that's where I wanted it to go, but I could have chosen D or any other drives I might have had.

Started my install this morning,  only took about 5 hours total.  Installed from the Microsoft Store.  The Digital Certificate and Premium downloads said “Error”, but once the main download was done I retried those and they finished fine.  Other than that, no issues. 🙂
