hyper threading i9 9900K MSFS

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

For people coming from P3D who have their processor with HT disabled. Do you think if I enable HT on MSFS I will have a lot more FPS? I would like to have your opinion on it, I have an i9 9900K OC 5Ghz

Manuel

MSFS is definitely designed to take benefit of all cores.
No reason at all to disable HT.

with that CPU ( I have one myself) I would turn my attention to GPU load, as would be the case with every modern game.

my 2080ti worked very hard in the beta in (4K, mind you) and the CPU was humming along, not even close to congesting Core0. I was unable to make the CPU the bottleneck, really.

I used HT off.

Why dont you try it and report back to us? It's just a simple flick of a switch in the bios, right?

Yep looking forward to what the OP has to tell us.

Same here 4 cores HT off CPU load in 4K ULTRA load no more than 60% GPU hitting 8GB VRAM load over 90% in dense scenery+ cloud real AI ON airport traffic full, road traffic 70%. this was in the Alpha not tried the retail yet.

I have i900KS at 5ghz watercooled, with HT enabled. I found that it stuttered, until I forced threaded optimization to 'on' in the nvidia control panel. That removed 90% of the stutters. The cpu isn't my bottleneck, my 2080ti seems to be......

Agree RTX 2080Ti is a bottleneck ... LOL...

I'd forget all those awful P3D hacks and just have your system run normally. Games are designed to take advantage or are very HT aware in this day and age.

The only thing I would be cautious about when turning HT back on is the additional heat generated.  Especially if you’re staying with the same OC.  Curious to see what OP’s temps are pre and post HT.

My CPU (i9-9900k with HT) rarely seemed to be heavily loaded during the beta, my GPU (1070Ti) had the snot beat out of it though LOL

The combo works mostly as long as i avoid New York etc in 4K, but its definitely time to upgrade the GPU as it can be at 94% while the CPU is at 15%

Will be interesting to see how it is with release version now.

Please. Everyone. When you ID your GPU please advise also of memory.  2080?  8GB or 11GB.
