CH Pro Yoke and Pro Pedals Unsupported???

Yikes, I have no idea why they would do it that way. Makes it completely useless at least in FS 2020. Thanks for confirming so that I am not awaiting a fix...

Yeah I was disappointed as I did not realize that was how the wheels worked when I got the yoke.  It has plenty of features that still make it worthwhile for me to keep it, though.

My CH fighterstick, and pedals are working with no problems. I'll have to setup my Pro Throttle soon.

Check my previous post. That is why you must use only the X+, Y+ and Z for the pedals and brake bindings. That way you are only using the positive half of the curve.

I tried doing this and it's still doing the full axis curve and essentially releasing brakes when I press half way down through the axis.  Any ideas?

Update: the parking brake was set while I was messing with toe brakes.  Took it off and working perfectly thankfully.  I only feel a little silly 🙂

Ah, it happens to the best of us. My memory is getting so short that I can't remember something I just recently did. I couldn't seem to find the parking brake release in the Cub Crafters, and totally forgot that I'd mapped the parking break to a lever on my CH Yoke. 😷

I got so frustrated with mapping my CH pedals that I bought some Thrustmasters last night. Mucking around with the settings for my CH ones this morning seems to have corrected the issues I was having. Never mind, I have a friend with a young son who's interested in flight simming so I'll give my CH products to him. Happy to help out a young simfan.

May all your landings be safe ones!

Hi folks. I just installed MSFS the other day. I have no experience whatsoever with flying, sim or otherwise :-).

On eBay I purchased a CH Eclipse yoke, used. Looks great, it just came today. I found this thread of configuring the CH stuff in MSFS 2020.

But I am having an issue. I understand the instructions to click Search by Input and then move a controller. That's simple enough.

But on my setup as soon as I click the Search by Input button, it immediately puts in an entry called "Joystick L-Axis X+" I don't get a chance to move the controller I want assigned.

Does this mean there's something screwed up with the yoke I bought?

I tried to work around the problem by using the Select as Input option but I don't see the hat listed.

I an very excited to have gotten the yoke. I also have CH throttles and pedals coming (also used from eBay). Now I am scared I am buying screwed up used stuff. I was willing to buy brand new but the lead times to get anything are so long.

Anyone who can shed some light on what might be going on with my system would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. If you're looking for a diagram of all the controller numbers on a CH Eclipse, here it is:   RLkMJma.png

Thanks,

Rob

Rob - move the yoke left right and in and out a few times and let it come to rest. Also do not touch anything but the control you want to map.  The X axis is the yoke handle and is very sensitive so if you bump the table, it could send a signala.

Before you do anything else - calibrate the yoke axis - control panel - devices and printers - select ch yoke and right click - select properties - in the next dialog under settings you can calibrate. Before you calibrate look at the diagram - without touching anything is the plus sign moving by itself? Calibrate and check again, Should be no movement with hands off. If there is, it's possible there's a noisy pot in the unit.

After calibration try this - do the assignment as usual - use search by input and move the throttle lever on the yoke - does the input change or does it change and go back to X when you stop moving.

will calibrating again *after* setting it up and binding all the axis and buttons cause any potential issues in MSFS (e.g. disappearing from the controls etc.) ?

I'd say only if the initial setup was way off. Personally, the b uttons are fine, the different axis I would look at the graphs in the sensitivity tab just to see if their max/min settings look ok. No real need to delete and redo if they are.

Not talking about re-doing. Actually had them disappear after installing CH software early on when was having a hard time getting recognized. Fearful it could happen again?  Mapping these is a PITA.

I want to give you all an update to my issues and some information you may not have:

I sent a message off to CH Products to see if I could get any advice regarding the problem I described in the original post. Lo and behold, a half hour later I get a phone call and it's the tech support lead for CH Products. Without going into every detail of what we did, basically the old CH software configuration program was what was screwing me up. He definitively told me no one running Windows 10 should be installing or trying to use that program.

Once we got that uninstalled and then went through the entire Windows 10 calibration process (settings, search for USB on the top of the screen) for the Eclipse, everything regarding mapping for the controller worked perfectly.

This dude (John) went above and beyond normal support, spending the next hour or so walking me through the entire process of getting most required things mapped in MSFS 2020. I told him I don't know how to fly and just bought MSFS to hobby around a bit.

At the end of our call, he said there's a lot of rumors on the web about Microsoft trying to squeeze them out, etc. NOT TRUE. What happened is that CH asked for a beta copy of the MSFS too late to develop the profiles for Microsoft to put into the program initially. He confirmed (not hearsay) that they are working with Microsoft now and that an update soon (no date given) will include profiles and controller pictures for all of the CH products in MSFS.

Well after a bit of being peed off I figured out to do axis for yoke was easy here is the trick - you have to click in the left window then turn yoke left and validate - then there is a box to the right you click in that box to the right and turn the yoke to the right - moral of story is you have to use a box for each input - do this for both aileron and elevator axis

Sorry I thought you were talking about windows calibration. I don't use the CH software so I can't say but the windows calibration should not affect it.

I didn 't have to do that at all Rich. The two inputs were designed in case you wanted the same response from two different controls. I completely programmed my CH Yoke, TQ, Rudders and a saitek X55 and had no issues. I selected the aileron and elevator axis moved the yoke accordingly and validated each. Tada!  Left and right individually is not correct TMK.

I just use the aileron axis and elevator axis.

Hi Vic

I couldnt get aileron and elevator axis to work unless I did the 4 different inputs - not sure why its different - interesting Vic never thought of that say you had an xbox controller for drone that would make sense to have two different places to assign for each - as stated no go for me - I will be selling my ch eclipse so see how that works out with saitek on its way
