Bonanza G36 underpowered?

just tried a couple flights with the G36 and was unable to climb above 4500 ft without stalling. gear up. flaps up. full power. 60% fuel. Am i missing something?

For those wishing to increase the G36 performance, try these settings in the flight_model .cfg/FLIGHT TUNING. Clb @ 1250fpm 130knts ias at normal MP and Prop pitch. Cruise 160ias at 22mp and 2400 rpm.

parasite_drag_scalar = 0.6//1
induced_drag_scalar = 1.00//1.4

You need to set the rpm with the prop rpm handle, only increasing throttle will not give you full power.

Would this also help when dragging the airplane in for a landing?

It feels like the engine needs more HP..

Also look at engines.cfg and try

[PISTON_ENGINE]
power_scalar = 1.1 ; Piston power scalar, was 1.0

maybe back off the drag numbers a bit..

Edit: Just tried 0.8 and 1.2 for drag, and 1.1 for engine.. seems to work a lot better 🙂

Bert I did do some experimenting with engine HP and Turbocharging. Upping the HP by 10hp helps. Turbocharging makes it a Rocket. It's actually quite enjoyable to fly, now.🙂

🤔 Now is there any edits to make the Citations engines more true to life? They feel like the Citation X engines on steriods right now.

It's tricky to determine if it's drag or power or both. Jet powered aircraft even more so. But i'm far from an expert. Just an old tweaker from way back in the freeware aircraft only days before professional 3rd party developers..
