I have tried 4 different aircraft and i can not get the GPS to activate flight plan or even have the aircraft follow said flight plan.  Anybody else?

For all the pluses, sadly, the GPS implementation is a major minus for this release. I hope people will not hesitate to go to https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/ with this issue to nudge developers to continue development of GPS capability across the board

Agree...  I guess i have to break out my flight computer "whiz wheel" and sectional and do me some old school in the meantime..... One good thing is, The FS 2020 scenery shows some good matching land marks as on the sectionals to follow.

Never know, The way things are going, Might be a short in the FS GPS/Auto pilot system and we just may have an in flight electrical failure.  LOL

If you gry G1000 you  must press CDI button on PFD and cycle thought until it switches to "FMC1" or "GPS". If you have an older unit like GNS430/530 than you have to click CDI button on GPS and switch it from "LOC" to "GPS"

But it wont let me enter the the point to point flight plan. Direct to,  k123, enter..... The "ent" button will not enter what i programmed and complete the flight plan on units screen.  I will re-try in a bit.

Thank you though....

So after some experimenting, I have found that the 530 in the 172 does not work the same as a "Real" one. Normally when you want to change your destination or next way point. You would select "Direct" button, cycle thru and input your way point

airport identifier, etc... Then hit enter. Then select enter again to activate. The way the default one is working is that, once you have entered your info, DO NOT hit enter. Instead, turn the large inner knob why your input is flashing and that will move and highlight "activate", then hit enter.

works every time. Just my take on it.

Yeah, all of the Garmin GPS units in the sim are...well they are just bad in terms of GPS navigation under IFR. They are really going to cause issues when someone tries to use them online with Vatsim or PilotEdge. I really hope with Garmin's name on the panel, someone from Garmin will step in and help the development team sort out those systems.

RealityXP works flawless in P3D. Hopefully they can make it happen here as well....

So, regardless of the plan being entered (which automatically happens if you use the planner before clicking "fly") the Flight Director bar does not follow the gps flightplan. Yes I have the magenta cdi following the gps,and the pfd shows "gps" at the top in green. However, the F/D will not follow the plan.

By the way...doesn't matter if your a/p is on or off. Actually the a/p only follows the f/d bars so if the f/d isnt working then you can assume the a/p will not work either for following the plan.
