Just like all the previous versions of MSFS

Recommended Posts

I have no doubts this is a great simulator but not for probably another 6-12 months. Just like all the previous versions of MSFS it will take several service packs before everything good.  The out of the box scenery is stunning. The UI and controller setup is awful. Probably the worst I have seen in my 35 years of flight simulator.

The UI is very bad amongst other things. The scenery is good but to me, it takes a lot more than that to make a great sim. I also wish there was a way to turn off the big text that hovers around when you try to click on cockpit objects.

That's before you go to places where it's really terrible. Alaska is a mess for one. Have a look at Quartz Creek (JLA), for example. Or better don't. They promised regular world updates. Let's see what these will bring.

I live in the Yukon and it looks great. I haven't crossed the border into Alaska yet

Just turn off the cockpit tool tips.  Done.

I definitely not intuitive but after XP11 and DCS I figures everything pretty quickly

I have a very good experience with the new sim. Followed the tutorial flights to learn the controls and master the C152, and now flying VFR in the Netherlands. With my modest PC (i7 4790k, 16gb, 1080ti) sim is running fine on medium. Haven't tweaked anything 😀

As confirmed in other threads. The Black and white text that appears when you hover your mouse over items in the cockpit cannot be disables at this time.

I feel like people must have blocked out original FSX and X-Plane pre UI overhaul. Because this statement is really out there.

My first flight was in Juneau which I actually found to be pretty accurate to the real world Juneau.  Best representation out of box I have seen in a sim ever personally.  I have not explored the rest but that is sad to hear.

Seriously.  I am just happy thy have a search function but I didn't find it that bad just maybe not what people are used to from FSX but hardly the worse UI in FS history.  But UI design is pretty subjective.

The UI might not be everyone's cup of tea but it's mostly good. Minus the controller setup.

It's obvious it was designed so it could be used for Xbox down the road. I'm okay with that.

The UI is subjective but the design is current and not the 80's vintage that is used in other sims (that I know about)

Anyway the Tip And Tricks section has some great info on getting your controller setup.

I hope you guys (and gals) get all the bugs worked out before the XBOX Series X is released.

Good Luck with it
